LED posters for airport terminals

An airport terminal has wide halls, long passages and many people who look at a screen from different distances. LED posters stand on the floor, need no wall drilling and can be joined into a larger screen. This page covers indoor terminal areas. They are direct-view LED, not LCD kiosks.

Types for a terminal

The double-sided LED poster shows information on both sides of a passage. The wide die-cast LED poster, 960 mm gives a wider canvas in a hall. With front service it can stand against a wall because they are serviced from the front.

Pitch for long distances

Viewers in a terminal are often 3 m away or more. P2.5 or P3.076 is enough: P3.076 on a 640 poster shows 208 × 624 pixels and P2.5 shows 256 × 768. P3.076 is the coarsest indoor pitch, so for viewers well beyond 3 m use large type and short lines and test the content. The pixel pitch guide has the table.

A wall for a main information screen

Posters of one pitch can be joined. A NovaStar controller joins up to 8 640 posters at P2.5 into 5120 × 1920 mm, which is 2048 × 768 pixels. Double-sided and acrylic posters cannot be joined. See the cascade guide.

Campaigns and pop-ups

A tri-fold poster opens to 1280 × 1920 mm and folds to about 640 mm, which helps for a campaign that moves between halls. See the folding tri-fold LED poster; a flight case for 1 to 4 posters is Optional.

Content

Files load over Wi-Fi from a phone or laptop, over LAN or from USB, and the poster keeps playing stored content if the network drops. 4G for remote updates is Optional. We do not describe a link to flight or schedule systems; the poster plays the files you load.

Before you place posters

Terminals have their own rules for what may be installed and where. Ask the operator for the rules, then send us the floor plan and the viewing distances with your request.
