What is an indoor die-cast LED poster?

An indoor die-cast LED poster is a freestanding, portrait LED screen with a built-in player, mounted in a die-cast aluminum cabinet. You plug it in and load content from a phone, a network or a USB stick; it needs no wall mounting and no separate media box. It is a direct-view LED screen, not an LCD kiosk. The die-cast cabinet gives accurate edges for joining posters, and the front-service design lets you change a module without turning the poster around. It is the reference cabinet for our range: the other types are compared with it.

*Typ.: typical value from comparable posters on the market; final figures are confirmed in your quotation.

What is different about this cabinet

Die-cast cabinet from the front with one module lifted out by a suction cup
Front service, no tools

Front service. Each module is held by magnets and comes out from the front with a suction cup, with no tools and without moving the poster. In a store or lobby with several posters this is the main practical difference from the aluminium profile cabinet with rear door.

Die-cast aluminum. Die-casting gives accurate geometry at the cabinet edges, so posters sit tightly side by side when joined.

GOB included. A clear protective layer over the LEDs helps hold them in place and protects them against knocks, dust and the light moisture of normal cleaning. It is for indoor use.

Casters. The base with casters is standard, so the poster moves between rooms, booths and events.

Joinable and foldable. Posters join side by side into one screen, and the cabinet folds for transport. Ask us for the folded size of your configuration.

Resolution and pitch: choose the picture quality

Every poster in the range has the same screen size: 640 × 1920 mm, 960 × 1920 mm or 1280 × 1920 mm. What changes with the pixel pitch is how many pixels fill that size. At P2.5 a 640 × 1920 mm poster shows 256 × 768 pixels; at P1.25 the same poster shows 512 × 1536 pixels, four times as many. More pixels give sharper text, cleaner edges and let viewers stand closer. The cabinet decides how you service and move the poster. The pitch decides how the picture looks. Pick the pitch by the distance of your nearest viewer: the minimum viewing distance in meters is roughly the pitch in millimeters.

Pitch LED 1 poster (640 × 1920 mm) Pixels per poster 2 posters (1280 × 1920 mm) 3 posters (1920 × 1920 mm) Viewing distance
P1.25 SMD1010 512 × 1536 786,432 1024 × 1536 1536 × 1536 from 1 m
P1.538 SMD1212 416 × 1248 519,168 832 × 1248 1248 × 1248 from 1.5 m
P1.86 SMD1515 344 × 1032 355,008 688 × 1032 1032 × 1032 from 2 m
P2 SMD1515 320 × 960 307,200 640 × 960 960 × 960 from 2 m
P2.5 SMD2121 256 × 768 196,608 512 × 768 768 × 768 from 3 m
P3.076 SMD2121 208 × 624 129,792 416 × 624 624 × 624 from 3 m

Two posters side by side make 1280 × 1920 mm (portrait, about 2:3); three make 1920 × 1920 mm (square). The pixel counts above are for the whole joined screen. For a reader 1.5 to 2 m away, look at P1.538 or P1.86; at an entrance viewed from 3 m or more, P2.5 or P3.076 is enough. Test your own artwork at the distance of your closest viewer before you order.

Where it is used

Retail and malls. At a store entrance or on a concourse. P2.5 (256 × 768 px) suits viewers from 2.5 m; P1.86 (344 × 1032 px) suits a counter or a window where people stand closer. Front service means a module can be changed in the aisle.

Showrooms, exhibitions and events. The caster base and the folding cabinet move the poster between venues; a flight case for 1 to 4 posters is Optional, and posters join into a wall for a booth.

Hotels and offices. Reception, lobby and event notices, updated from a phone. P1.86 or P2 for text read at 2 m.

Museums and education. Exhibition information and schedules in portrait format with no wall drilling; P1.538 to P1.86 where visitors read closely.

Restaurants. Menu boards and specials. A built-in speaker is Optional. Where people touch the screen, such as a checkout, see the LED poster with acrylic glass screen.

Control and options

  • NovaStar control + Mean Well power supplies: the default set.
  • Huidu or Colorlight control: a lower-cost option.

Receiving cards and controller are matched to one brand, so name your system when you ask for a quote. Content loads over Wi-Fi, LAN or USB (4G Optional), and the poster then plays on its own, with no computer connected.

Optional: alternative LED brands; built-in speaker; hanging rings; 4G module; heavy-duty casters; flight case (1 to 4 posters); wooden crate; OEM logo, labels, packaging and documents. Power supply can be changed (Optional).

Daisy chain

Posters stand side by side (some buyers call this splicing) and the video signal runs from the HDMI output of one poster to the input of the next. The cascade controller replaces the control card in each poster, so choose it when you order. Pitches never mix in one chain.

Pitch Posters in one chain Controller Screen at maximum
P2.5 up to 8 NovaStar controller 5120 × 1920 mm, 2048 × 768 px
P1.86 up to 6 NovaStar controller 3840 × 1920 mm, 2064 × 1032 px
P1.25 up to 6 Huidu controller 3840 × 1920 mm, 3072 × 1536 px

These limits apply to the die-cast 640. For other pitches or a longer wall, the number of posters in one cascade is set by the total pixel count that the controller and its receiving cards can drive, so it depends on the pitch: a finer pitch puts more pixels in each poster, so fewer posters fit on one controller. We calculate it for your layout. Tell us the width you need.

Packaging and shipping

Each poster ships in its own cardboard box with foam inserts (included in the base price); the stand or base is packed separately. A flight case and a wooden crate are Optional, and the weight and size of every piece is stated in the packing list for your order. See packaging and shipping for the photos and the choice between box, flight case and crate. We sell EXW / FOB Shenzhen: we prepare the goods and export documents, and you arrange freight, duties and import compliance.

Front service, and the rear-door alternative

The 640 × 1920 mm poster comes in two cabinets. The die-cast cabinet is front service only: each module is held by magnets and comes off the front with a suction cup, so the poster can stand flat against a wall or in a tight row. The aluminium profile cabinet has a rear door on a folding rear stand: modules are reached from the back, so the poster needs clear space behind it or has to be rolled away from the wall. Both stand on casters. Tell us which cabinet you need when you order.

Questions about this poster

Do I have to turn the poster around to change a module?

No. The module comes out from the front with a suction cup. Keep a few spare modules with the main order, because color and brightness are matched within one purchase batch only.

Can I join this poster to the one I already have?

Posters in one chain share the same pixel pitch, because pitches never mix. How many can join is set by the total pixel count the controller can drive, so it depends on the pitch (see the table above). Tell us what you already have and we calculate whether the new poster can join it.

What can people read from 1, 2 and 3 meters: P2.5 or P1.86?

The minimum viewing distance in meters is roughly the pitch in millimeters. From 1 m choose P1.25 (512 × 1536 pixels); from 2 m P1.86 or P2 (344 × 1032 or 320 × 960); from 2.5 m P2.5 (256 × 768), from 3 m P3.076 (208 × 624). Between P2.5 and P1.86 the size is the same, but P1.86 gives about 1.8 times as many pixels, so small text and QR codes stay sharper for viewers who stand closer. Test your own artwork at the nearest viewer's distance before you order.

How do I put new content on it?

Over Wi-Fi from a phone or laptop standing next to it, over LAN or from a USB stick. The poster stores the content and keeps playing if the network drops. 4G for remote updates is Optional.

What does it weigh and how do I move it?

48 kg net for the P2.5 poster. It stands on casters, so it rolls across a floor; use a flight case for travel. The packing list for your order states the weight and size of every piece.

Is the screen readable next to a window?

The panel starts at 500 nit, which is set for normal indoor lighting. Direct sun on the screen lowers contrast, so place the poster out of direct sunlight.

How do I clean the GOB surface?

Switch the poster off and wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not spray liquid straight onto the screen and avoid solvents.

What is in the box?

The poster with its player and power supplies, the base and casters, and the power cord for your market. Spare modules, a flight case or a wooden crate are Optional.

What if a module fails during the warranty?

The warranty is 2 years, with repair at the factory. Spare parts are sold separately and freight is paid by the buyer. You swap in a spare module yourself and send the faulty one back for repair.

Our country uses a different plug. Can you ship the poster with the right one?

Yes. Send us your country and any local requirements with your request. We fit the matching power cord, and we collect all the requirements before production so the order matches. See power plugs and voltages by country. Other power supplies are available (Optional).
