LED totem, pylon, standee, poster: many names
A freestanding portrait LED screen goes by several names. Buyers in different markets use different words, and the product is the same: a direct-view LED screen on a stand.
- Terms by market
The names
| Name | Where buyers use it |
|---|---|
| LED poster, digital poster | The term we use; common with US buyers |
| LED totem, digital totem | Reported for the UK and Europe |
| Pylon | Reported in Malaysia and Southeast Asia |
| Standee, digital standee | Reported in Southeast Asia and India; can also mean a lightbox |
We have no search-volume data for these terms, so treat the table as a guide, not a measurement.
What stays the same
All of them are direct-view LED screens with a portrait shape and a stand. The width (640, 960 or 1280 mm) and the pixel pitch decide the picture. The words do not change the product.
Which word should you search for?
If a supplier's page uses a different word from yours, check the size, the pixel pitch and the cabinet. Our LED posters page lists every type under 'LED poster' and explains each cabinet.
